“And God took a rib from Adam and created Eve…” Well… we may share the same type of ribs, but what about our minds? We can imagine that Adam was so bored he needed some drama, and that’s when the experts entered the game: WOMEN.
“And God took a rib from Adam and created Eve…” Well… we may share the same type of ribs, but what about our minds? We can imagine that Adam was so bored he needed some drama, and that’s when the experts entered the game: WOMEN. Pilar Sordo, one of the most popular psychologists in Latin America, investigates why guys and gals don’t function equally.
Here’s a recap of the most important points:
Women tend to keep. They like feeling necessary to others (children, husbands, society). In that action of “keeping,” they retain everything. Ever wonder why some still have their babies’ umbilical cords, baby teeth, and those pictures their kids painted in kindergarten? That’s the reason.
Men tend to liberate. They like feeling admired (here we prove they always dream of being like Chris Hemsworth with no t-shirt on, saving you from drowning in the sea while all the girls surround him and… oh STOP!). Let’s get back to the topic. Men let go, they forget, turn the page, and start a new one.
Women enjoy the process while men enjoy results. But both sexes could improve their happiness if they exchanged those particular characteristics. If men could “retain” more memorable stuff, they could establish a better relationship with their loved ones. For example, if they reached the goal of buying a house but also added the affective ingredient. they could feel it not just as a simple house but a home that contains memories and love inside.
In the case of women, they can get a higher level of joy when they realize they have to be loved for what they are and not for what they do (consequently, they will stop trying to be necessary to others all the time). And when it comes to forgiving, women shouldn’t focus on memories. They should deal with the pain and let go of the grief in order to turn the page — just like men do.
The Chilean psychologist also referred to COMMUNICATION. Women use about 17,000 words a day while men only use 10,000. Why? Because men see family as another achieved goal. A wife and children are a safe thing. So they don’t have much to talk about at home. Personal comment: they should talk more!!! That makes us girls feel special! Hands up if you agree!
Talk, talk, talk. Yes, women are like parrots. Someone has to spread all that gossip going around. At this point, Pilar makes a clear difference. Female is auditory. Male is sight. Women believe in what they hear, that’s when they develop their intuition. Pilar talks about a serious and unfortunately common matter nowadays: violence. Women who are living with it always think it is the last time. Who hasn’t heard “I’m going to change” or “I did it because I don’t want to lose you,” or “It won’t happen again.”
Going on with the comparison, men believe in what they see. Now you know, when they stare at big boobs and butts. Oh, they are believers.
And lastly but not less important…SEX. it’s all reduced to the first point. Process-result. If it were strictly according to men’s animal instincts, they would just go for the result: ejaculation. But women need a whole previous process of seduction. Women love details.
So, has this theoretical route of differences helped you understand a bit more about the opposite sex? I see you all analyzing your couple behavior…
