Ah, Paris Fashion Week is here. As the final stop in fashion month dwindles down to its last days, I have been watching closely for my favorite looks and latest trends in fashion, beauty, and makeup. Sure, even though fashion week is all about ready-to-wear, many of the looks are more inspirational and conceptual, more of a performance and showcase than something you would wear to Starbucks on a Wednesday. Many times, I love the glitter covering half of the model’s face, but it’s not a style I would emulate on the day-to-day. However, many of fashion week’s heavy hitters showcased beautiful collections with makeup looks that I definitely would wear – right now! These are the most important, I think.
After much debate, below are the biggest trends coming for Fall in makeup. What have I learned? That bold lips, fresh, glowing skin are in, and that Pat McGrath is a busy woman.
I love lining my lower lid in white liner for an eye-opening effect. Makeup artist Pat McGrath takes it a step further by lining the inner eye of the models backstage at Stella McCartney.
A sexy, smoky eye is always in. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux kept the rest of the models’ faces minimal and clean in order to play up this dramatic look at Elie Saab.
Models are Versace sported clean brows and a defined smoky eye that did not ignore the inner corners. Once again, Pat McGrath was responsible for this beautiful look.
I love a big, bold lip and the look at Prada perfected this trend. It’s important to keep skin flawless and eye makeup to a minimum when rocking a lip in a bright tone. Pat McGrath gave the models matte red lips for the runway.
I absolutely adore the black currant lips, lined to perfection, on the models at Dior. Makeup artist Peter Philips topped off this gorgeous trend for fall with spiky lashes and clean skin.
The bold fuchsia Pat McGrath painted on models’ lips at Gucci is perfect for Fall OR summer. Once again, skin and eye makeup is kept natural and fresh to keep the look classy and clean.
I always prefer a natural look. The makeup was barely there at Balmain. Tom Pecheux focused on highlighting the model’s natural beauty by paying attention to cheekbones, brows, and the model’s natural lip color.
A swipe of purple-rose lip and a dab of rosy cheek are all that were needed on this blushing beauty at Dolce and Gabbana. Pat McGrath kept models’ faces fresh and pure.
Skin Is IN
Good makeup artists know that good makeup starts with a good, healthy base. It’s essential to moisturize always, but especially before applying foundation and other skin makeup to keep skin luscious.
Sleek hair and a glowing complexion were all the rage at Ralph Lauren. Hit your cheeks with a stroke of peachy bronze and use mascara on those bottom lashes. Try a smoothing serum on your hair before blow-drying.
Last but not least, the look at Proenza Shouler was luminous and beautiful. Makeup artist Dianne Kendal focused on fresh skin for her models.
